“You know who looks really good this season?” “Who?” Replied her friend. Both girls dressed nearly identical in charcoal head to toe, riding boots, oversized body wrap/pashmina/scarf/cape/poncho combo and giant black patent bags dangling from skinny forearms. You know the girl. She is everywhere. The one to my left reached in her bag and grabbed out a creased and folded magazine. I tried to crane my neck to peek as my ears were already perked up–overhearing their entire conversation just one table away.
As she pulled the magazine from her bag, she made that confused question mark face that many 20 somethings make these days as she slammed the magazine on the table and said….”URBAN.” I waited patiently for her friends response—but inside I knew what was coming. These kinds of girls only answer questions with one word these days….”RIGHT?” By saying “RIGHT?” in that strange sing-song way that they speak…she simultaneously meant…

A) Yes. Ubran Outfitters does look good. And…
B) Yes. They do look better than they have in the previous seasons.
and finally
C) Agreed. They look good.
She then grabbed the catalogue out of her friends hands who was like…”UMMM MINE?” But she stayed cool using her now free hands to cup her double tall skinny sugar free maple walnut latte. Her friend feverishly thumbed threw the pages until she found it…”Look at those shoes, I just got them last week, and I am wearing friday to go to a play.”
I gathered my bag, phone, and work folders just in time to see her point to the Beige Jeffrey Campbell RUFFY located on page 27 of this seasons mailer. I smiled, now satisfied, as I tapped her on the shoulder silently saying…”Can I squeeze by” as I silently mouthed “Thanks.” The two girls who now seemed to be arguing with a barrage of “OH MY GOD NO YOU DIDN’Ts.”
I was happy.

Last Sunday at LA Fashion Week, ROJAS made a strong appearance back on the runway–showing at the BOXeight Studios to a crowded house. After not showing the past few seasons, the LA based collection was back with a fresh spring show that highlighted looks which would encourage you to get your business on a treadmill this winter—to prep for some Spring action packed with short shorts, shorter shorts, min-jumpers and leg baring essentials in ikats, prints and cottons. The overall look, for both men and women, was a relaxed vintage feel–with updated silhouettes and shapes to keep the attitude fresh. The ROJAS show, which was clearly attended by the LA “Cute Set,” was perfectly juxstaposed with the party vibe of the Boxeight space. Cash bars, DJ’s, the celbrity tranny set, mingling and mixing all took place at the downtown venue.

We at Jeffrey Campbell were ecstatic when approached by ROJAS for a chance to style several of their looks for the event. We have alwyas admired the street vibe of the line and the combination of “naughty and nice” that ROJAS seems to own. All of the jeffrey campbell shoes used for the show are available for your buying pleasure at WWW.SOLESTRUCK.com, including CAUSE, the newest Jeffrey Campbell Design which fatures a low heel and extreme zip up ankle shaft. Also selected for the show by stylist ALEJANDRE HERNANDEZ, were the jeffrey Campbell MARLY—a shoe, also available at SOLESTRUCK, which simply doesn’t stop (pictured above).

Go to www.solestruck.com now to see updated Jeffrey Campbell desings, including the styles used in the ROJAS show—and of course…the new Jeffrey Campbell CAUSE shown here in black patpent.

Special thanks to ROJAS, ALEJANDRE HERNANDEZ, and SOLESTRUCK.com

Pumps in general have been shutting it down on runways all season long. Designers from every angle and country have gone back to demure and lady like pumps on all different heights, textures, heels and feels. Many top designers are showing the square toe pump for spring—but guess what…JC has it on the floor for fall–May I introudce you to THE PROP.

The perfect square toe and blocky feel give the prop a mid 90’s feel, but upon closer inspection and with the right styling a 1920’s romanticism can be felt from this amazing shape and toe detail. Brought to life with an array of pop suede hues–the PROP is sersiously…the go to shoe for all. Paired with so many lucks and different colors the shape lends itself to taking even a jean based look to the next level.
You can currently find all the colors of PROP available at www.shopbop.com–including the simple and elegant black suede—perfect for holiday! Get your shop on—then get your prop on.

Wikipedia says:
A buckle (from Latin buccula) is a clasp used for fastening two things together, such as the ends of a belt, or for retaining the end of a strap. Before the invention of the zipper, buckles were commonly used to fasten boots and other shoes.

Jeffrey Campbell JOSH BOOTIE number 5 in the line-up shown above is taking the buckle boot craze in stride. The flat styling and pointy toe keep JOSH looking fresh while still giving off an early 90’s back to school grunge feel. JOSH smells like teen spirit, JOSH clearly challenges you to come as you are–The JOSH BOOT–is here to stay!!
As cited on WWWD JOSH is currently available online at NORDSTROM.com– and can also be found at NYC retailers LF, SHOEMANIA, and SHOECRAFT.
