Meet Make-Up Artist Laramie Ann Glen

As you all know by now, we’re getting ready to launch our first ever line of handbags! We had an amazing photo shoot last month, which you all got a glimpse of, and we have to give a major shout out to NYC make-up artist extraordinaire and all around badass chick, Laramie Ann Glen. Not only did she do an amazing job on the shoot, but she’s also one of the most fun people we know! In-between looks on the shoot, we got her to give us an exclusive interview. We just might kidnap her, so if you need a make-up artist, book now!
What was it like working on the bag shoot?
So much fun! I had just come from a shoot in Brooklyn, which was super cool, but a totally different vibe: just me, the photographer, and the model. The bag shoot had more people, music, food, and drinks. It really felt like a bunch of fun creative people hanging out!
What was your favorite part?
My favorite part was when the team put Bridgette’s dog (willingly) in one of the bags for some photos. I couldn’t believe how happy and content the little pup was just chillin’ in the bag. Too adorable!
What bag was your favorite?
My favorite bag was the one with the fringe. Naomi (the model) did such a great job conveying movement, and the fringe just picked that up.
What direction did you get from the JC team?
A very fun, whimsical direction. I love collaborating on looks (blue lips, angled brows, wherever the wind takes us!) and everyone was so supportive of each look. It was a really fun day and I was sad to leave!
Who are your influences?
I really admire Val Garland and Gucci Westman.
How did you get the blue lip?
I definitely didn’t have any blue lipstick, so a quick way to get the color we wanted was to scrape some bright blue eyeshadow into clear gloss and use that as the color. Protip: the color always goes on darker when you blend it with a gloss, so use a lighter color than you initially want!
