We don’t like Mondays either, but we LOVE I DON’T LIKE MONDAYS’ NEW ARRIVALS PAGE. You know by now how much we love patterns, prints and bright colors, but we’re also new wave goth kids at heart.

Here at the NYC showroom, we love highlighting our fashionable interns, but today we wanted to shed some light on the true style-queen around here. Much of our style inspiration comes from the fashionable member of our team, style dog Sadie.

It’s hard to believe that our LITA is only one year old! She’s become such a staple of the brand, and is instantly recognizable on the street. Can you imagine a color-way or fabric that LITA doesn’t come in? If so, we’re probably already working on it, because she’s still one of our all-time favs! Help us celebrate LITA’s first anniversary, and tell us about when you fell in love with your first pair!

Tell me what you really, REALLY want! Other than another Spice Girls re-union, we’re proud to present the next best thing, the SPORTY platform in black and white, available now at A. OK! Who says sneakers ever have to be boring, I mean just ask Mel C. Homegirl lived in trainers in the 1990s, and always looked great along with the rest of the girls.

If you were wondering where the fab jewelry from our DOWNTOWN GIRL look book came from, we were lucky enough to borrow it from our good friend Aimee Munford, designer and owner of GARNETT JEWLERY. Last week we caught up with Aimee and asked her a few questions about what inspires her, how she got started in the industry, and any advice she would give to anyone out there looking to break in to one of the coolest areas of the fashion world.

Our intern Brittany came up with a great idea to mock up some fun 90s throwback Litas featuring all of our favorite TV shows from when we were younger. Unfortunately these will not be sold, but we thought it was a fun idea to show you what we made. What Litas – or other JC shoes – are you dying to see? Our favorite part about Friday used to be all about kicking off the weekend. Don’t get us wrong, we still love a little time to ourselves, but Friday also means we get to have ASAMI aka PINK KITTEN guest blog for us!

Here at JC we love patterns and prints, and one of the hottest trends for fall is snakeskin. It’s super 70s, but with an updated twist thanks to some of our favorite styles getting the python treatment. We were able to hang out with VICE the other night at the ACE HOTEL here in NYC, and it was super fun! They’ve been one of our favorite reads for many years, and we’re very excited that we’re becoming fast friends.

The JC design team LOVES when we get to team up with one of our favorite retailers for an exclusive collaboration, so we were beyond excited to work with the amazing LORI’S SHOES from Chicago on the SHY-TOWN.

We LOVE our interns here at the NYC showroom. They are the biggest help in the entire world, and we’re so grateful of all their hard, dedicated work. Today, after Alleson, one of our interns, finished helping us out with some new designs, we decided to take her out with some of our favorite Girls We Hated in High School bags for an impromptu photo shoot. Music keeps us going all day long at the New York showroom. Whether we’re dancing-while-we-work to Born This Way by Lady Gaga, rocking out to New Brigade by Iceage, or feeling nostalgic with In Utero by Nirvana or Give Up by Postal Service, we’ve always got SOMETHING playing on our iTunes.

The 1990s are back in a BIG way, and we don’t hate it! We’re seeing some of the best parts of the decade inspiring fashion all over the place, from street style, to the runways in Paris. One of our interns stumbled across a hilarious tumblr today called WHO STOLE MY LITAS?. It features some of pop culture’s most influential characters wearing, you guessed it, our classic Lita platform.
