Music keeps us going all day long at the New York showroom. Whether we’re dancing-while-we-work to Born This Way by Lady Gaga, rocking out to New Brigade by Iceage, or feeling nostalgic with In Utero by Nirvana or Give Up by Postal Service, we’ve always got SOMETHING playing on our iTunes. We thought it would be a fun idea to pair some of our favorite new styles with some of our favorite albums.
Fourth of July may be over, but Americana will be around forever. Case in point: Bruce Springsteen’s Born In The USA. The Boss released this record in the mid-80s and it still stands the test of time. Of course it was also the first piece of music that popped into our heads when we saw the LITA in Stars and Stripes. Like Bruce, we have a feeling Lita’s Glory Days are far from over.
When you hear the words BAD ROMANCE, Lady Gaga is the immediate go-to. We thought so too at first, but when we took a closer look all we could think was the soundtrack to Purple Rain by Prince and the Revolution. A bit eccentric, and draped completely in purple, we can almost see the Purple One himself rocking the Bad Romance on his next sold-out tour.
It wasn’t the orange leather matching the orange font on the album cover, and it also wasn’t the fact that it’s named the FUTURE that made this shoe remind us of Justin Timberlake’s FutureSex/LoveSounds, but it didn’t hurt either. This shoe is definitely sexy and modern, but it also has a certain throwback x-factor that made JT’s 2006 album such an instant hit with music lovers around the world. We can only hope the same fate for this amazing new style.
