We’re proud to introduce our newest segment of the JC Blog: STYLE ICON. Every issue, we’ll dedicate an entire post to someone who inspires us through their personal style. Our debut issue features the amazing Barbadian Princess herself, Rihanna. Since her debut album Music of the Sun dropped in 2005, Rihanna has already put out five albums, which have spawned 10 Billboard Hot 100 #1 hits. Now at 23, she’s gone from cute island girl, to a bona fide superstar both with her music and her impeccable style. We love that she’s always taking risks, and always switching it up, as a true fashion chameleon does. Whether it’s an homage to Keith Haring in the “Rude Boy” video, a high fashion moment in Jean-Paul Gautier, picking out the fiercest one-piece swimsuit we’ve seen in decades, rocking out as Slash in “Rock Star 101″ or kicking it with a backwards hat and some shades, Rihanna effortlessly moves from one look to the next but always seems to play it true to herself. We also adore her down-to-Earth personality. One glance at her twitter – follow her @RIHANNA – and you automatically know she’s all about having fun and not taking herself too seriously. We might not always know what to expect from Ri Ri, but we always know it’s gonna be next level. What more can we say? Cheers to Rihanna. We love you!
