We can’t believe it’s already the end of September! It’s finally starting to feel like fall in NYC. Sadly, we have to say good-bye to our Japanese home girl ASAMI aka PINK KITTEN, as we pass the torch to a new guest blogger we’ll introduce to you all in October. We thought it would be fun to do one last Pink Friday post, where Asami gives you a closer look into her favorite styles for fall, and her extensive closet.

Jeralyn Mason, our good friend, and co-owner of RESCUE – an amazing buy-sell-trade boutique on Newbury Street in Boston, MA – took some time out of her busy schedule to let us interview her for the second edition of our new style post series. Named one of Boston’s 25 most stylish (with her brother, and the other half of Rescue, Paul Mason), when Jeralyn isn’t selecting used designer goods and vintage rock tees for Rescue, you can catch her djying at any one of many new wave nights…

Last time we were all in LA, our friends from SOLESTRUCK and us came up with some exclusive JC styles that you can’t get anywhere else! They haven’t quite shipped yet, but check out this sneak peak of what’s to come! We’re sorry to make your head spin, but we couldn’t resist sharing these with our JC Girls. We’re feeling pretty generous around here and we wanted to give YOU the chance to own a piece of JC history. One of our favorite styling pieces we’ve come across over the years is the tribal blazer Lara wore in front of the historic (and now sadly closed) MARS BAR in our Downtown Girl look book.

We don’t get the chance to see too many movies, so when we go we try and make it count. Fall marks the beginning of Oscar season, with studios releasing all the big contenders for Academy Awards seemingly all at once. If we listed all the movies we’re dying to see this fall, we’d take up too much blog space, so we narrowed it down to 5 that we’re definitely shelling out $13.50 for at Village East Cinemas this autumn.

We LOVE our hard-working interns. They help us out so much, and it’s only fair that you get to meet the true worker bees of the NYC showroom. It’s fall, which means we have some amazing new helpers around the office…

We used to be rather skeptical of the “it-girl” status. The concept can seem forced, and as if we’re being told whose style to emulate, rather than choosing our own path. Recently with the advent of tumblr, twitter and other social media sites, that all began to change. We, the users, began to hold the power, and unlikely anti-heroes began to emerge as style icons for a new generation.

That’s right, we’re back with another LF style post just in time for fall. We love visiting our friends at LF SoHo and putting together looks with their latest JC shipment and newest fall trends, you can only get at LF. With store manager Kate as our right-hand-stylist we came up with a series of looks that are LF meets JC to the fullest extent, and that are sure to turn heads this fall.

This time of year, we can’t even count how many runway shows we look at. There’s always something new and exciting to inspire us. While our focus is mostly fixated on the big four, Paris, New York, Milan and London, we love seeing shows from other smaller fashion weeks like New Zealand, Berlin, and Scandinavia.

As of last night, we have officially launched JC Shoes on ASHBURY SKIES, an amazing store from San Francisco, CA. We’re obsessed with the JC styles they have in stock, and feel like they each embody the laid-back urban feel of SF, but are each uniquely JC at the same time.

We were a little bummed out when we walked outside last night and it legit felt like fall. So this morning when we checked our inbox, we were immediately warmed up by PINK KITTEN aka ASAMI’S picks of the week.

One of the most frequently asked questions we get is “where are you based?” Even though we’re here blogging and styling in NY, our home base is in Los Angeles, CA…Her name is Muriel Del Cid, her game is looking effortlessly gorg in ways only a true Cali girl can.

Our friends from JC POLAND held an event last Saturday called “Breakfast with JC” – a special pop-up shop – where Litas found homes and cookies were served! By the looks of things it was a blast! We might have to steal this idea for the states some-day, except knowing us we’d put our pop-up shop in a storefront in Queens. New York Fashion week is officially in full-swing. We love guessing and finding out what all the new trends are for next season, and letting all the new inspiration that comes our way set in. By now the fall semester has all but settled in. You’re familiar with your class schedule, your apartment/dorm/bedroom is shaping up, and you finally found some time to pick up a few more fall essentials this weekend. And if anyone’s got your back, it’s SOLESTRUCK. They have three new colorful arrivals we’re obsessing over.

We hope all you New Yorkers had an amazing Fashion’s Night Out 2011! We spent our FNO ’11 at OAK Bond St. Upstairs it was all about reviving the spirit of Studio 54 with mirror balls and lots of glamor. Downstairs it was a gritty rock ‘n roll party, courtesy of Ksubi. At the beginning of the night 3,000 $1 bills lined the walls, by 10 PM the walls were white. One of the highlights of the night for us came just after 9PM when our girl TIF B took the stage to perform a medley of songs from her debut EP Big Bang.

Last week we introduced a new segment ALBUMS OF THE WEEK where we tuned you in to what we were currently listening to in the NY showroom. This week, we thought it would be fun to look back at some of our favorite album covers of all time.

We’re about a week or so away from launching our Fall 2011 Handbag look book, but in the spirit of New York Fashion Week, and to celebrate Fashion’s Night Out, we thought we’d give you a little teaser to hold you over.

Is there some secret landing-page university that we don’t know about? No? NASTY GAL was just born this way? We believe it! Every time we log onto their site we’re blown away by the amazing styling, concepts and visuals that go into their homepages.

It’s that time of year again. Time to buy your books, school supplies, drom essentials, and of course spruce up your fall wardrobe! Even though we’re out of school, fall is still our favorite time to stock up on new clothes and shoes.

Two of our all-time favorite people to work with, model/photographer Naomi Nishi and make-up artist extraordinaire Laramie Glen recently teamed up on a photo-shoot for INK mag, and we have your first look right here!

We hope everyone had a great labor day! Thanks to the gloomy weather here in NYC we spent the day at the movies, doing karaoke and playing darts. We also spent some time on our Facebook Page checking out what all our JC Girls and Boys have been posting on our wall.

Bushwick’s a poppin! Yeah, we’ve been hearing that for years, but this time it’s TRUE, thanks large in part to our good friend MARY MEYER, and her new store located at 56 Bogart St. in Brooklyn, NY. Earlier in the summer, we were lucky enough to attend the amazing opening party to get a first glimpse at the space.

It’s our first Pink Friday of September! This week, PINK KITTEN aka ASAMI gives us some punk with tartans, studs, platforms and buckles. We might still have a few weeks until fall actually hits, but September will always mark the beginning of autumn for us. The days are getting shorter, the weather a bit cooler (if you count 75 degrees in NYC cooler) and our love for darker colors and dramatic silhouettes rears its head.

One of our favorite breakout artists of the last few years is Marina Diamandis aka Marina and the Diamonds. Her debut album The Family Jewels is packed with theatrical, playful and heartfelt songs reminiscent of Kate Bush, Tori Amos and Florence Welch.

Heels are so 5 minutes ago. Okay, we lied we still love a heel, but when we first laid our eyes on the NIGHT WALK we literally went GaGa (picture us breaking out into the “Judas” dance?… Cuz we do it all the time).
