We used to be rather skeptical of the “it-girl” status. The concept can seem forced, and as if we’re being told whose style to emulate, rather than choosing our own path. Recently with the advent of tumblr, twitter and other social media sites, that all began to change. We, the users, began to hold the power, and unlikely anti-heroes began to emerge as style icons for a new generation. As of right now, SKY FERREIRA may be known more for her wild hair, big eyes, and effortless style than her music, but we have a feeling that’s all about to change. She’s been making the rounds on the club venue circuit for a while now with her addictive alt-pop sound and when her album finally drops, we think she’s going to be huge. In the meantime check out some of our favorite looks she’s rocked over the past year or so. And keep your eyes – and ears – on Sky in 2012.
