One of the most frequently asked questions we get is “where are you based?” Even though we’re here blogging and styling in NY, our home base is in Los Angeles, CA. And to paraphrase Marion Cotillard’s Oscar acceptance speech, there really are some angels in LA! Our team of California Gurls are the ones who make sure all of our shoes ship to stores AKA you can send them lots of cookies and flowers cuz they’re the reason your favorite pair of JCs on your feet! They’re truly the hardest working gals we know, but we stole one of them away for a few minutes to pose for some pics and answer a few questions in this exclusive behind-the-scenes style post. Her name is Muriel Del Cid, her game is looking effortlessly gorg in ways only a true Cali girl can. JEFFREY CAMPBELL NYC: Where do you dwell?

MURIEL DEL CID: LA, southbay to be exact.

JC NYC: What do you do for JC?

MDC: Office work, trade shows, and designer wannabe at times.

JC NYC: What is your favorite JC of the moment? favorite JC retailer?

MDC: 4EVZ, or course, not to be bias or anything. Also Rumi and Pauline. MY faave retailer of the moment, Nasty Gal, are ordering some of my fave shoes from our line.

JC NYC: Who are your favorite bloggers?

MDC: Sad but true, I hardly ever have time to follow any blogs. But when I do, I like Vintage Virgin, Fashion Squad, and Blue Femme.

JC NYC: Where do you go out?

MDC: I am such a grandma nowadays, but if I do, any club with good electro music in Hollywood.

JC NYC: What’s in your tape deck?

MDC: The XX, We Love, and Lykke Li.

JC NYC: What trends are you looking forward to for fall?

MDC: Jade green dresses, high waisted super wide leg trousers, brightly colored pants, and polka dotted chiffon dresses and tops. Anything 70’s inspired Bianca Jagger’esque.

JC NYC: Favorite runway designer?

MDC: Giambattista Valli Couture

JC NYC: Movie that best describes your life?

MDC: Maybe a few scenes from Spanglish.

JC NYC: If you could go back in time to the 90s  and rescue one piece of your wardrobe that you have since discarded…what would it be?

MDC: Light blue hooded cotton jacket with faux fur lining I use to wear all the time when I was 6!!!

JC NYC: What color lipstick?

MDC: No lipstick, nude lipgloss though.

JC NYC: Boxers or breifs?

MDC: Briefs

JC NYC: Favorite 90s sitcom?

MDC: Saved by the Bell!!!
