PARIS IS BURNING

October 5th, 2011

Culture

We’ve been glued to STYLE.COM‘s up-to-the minute coverage of the Paris runways. What have we been seeing for Spring? Reds, Whites and Oranges took front and center in many shows like Hermes and Chloe, but the most surprising use of color came in the burnt oranges at Rick Owens. The retro-futurism of the 60s popped at Balenciaga and Louis Vuitton, while underwater-chic was big at Chanel and McQueen. Givenchy went for a refined western look, and Kenzo beautifully executed sophisticated sport. And we must admit, cameos from Kate Moss, Chloe Sevigny and Gisele Bundchen on the runway made us squeal with delight. We did the impossible, and chose a few of our favorite looks from some of our favorite shows. Tell us if you felt the same, and what you loved in comments or on twitter @jcshoes. We love Alexander Wang, Proenza Schouler, Rodarte and Jeremy Scott in NY, Burberry Prorsum and Christopher Kane in London, Moschino and Prada from Milan, but once again Paris is the one to beat…

Not nice Lisa! The whole point of fashion week is to enjoy all the new collections the designers have worked hard on. Desiree was obviously joking when she said she can afford it all…

@lisa I was being sarcastic. I wish I was lucky enough to afford all of these beautiful clothes.
What I DON’T wish for is a nasty attitude like yours.
