Meet Leah Schmidt from sunny Los Angeles. She’s our latest guest blogger and in her first entry, she’s giving us a look into her closet and collection of favorite things. Leah’s a designer, stylist and co-founder of Neon Angeles, where she regularly blogs (www.theneonangels.com). We’re so happy she’s blogging with us in February and can’t wait for her next post!
I see my style as a little bit Tom boy with a side of strawberry ice cream. I’ve always liked to play with fashion, and wear things that others might not think of putting on. I never plan my outfits… I usually just throw something together in a hurry.
When your style is your own, it just happens.
My JCs are a must when I’m out to have fun, and I love the fact that I’m able to recreate a part of that 70′s wild child style with the help of some sky-high platforms. There’s a carefree freedom in towering above the world in your favorite pair of shoes.
I was raised in an unconventional household with my mom being an artist and my dad a musician. I’ve extensively traveled to Japan for work projects over the last few years as well as China, Taiwan, Singapore, and Korea.
Those experiences opened my eyes to the bigger picture of life & the freedom and fun that self-expression through fashion can bring. I like to mellow out by listening to my treasured vinyl collection, which mostly consists of my parents original 60′s & 70′s rock, soul, and folk albums.
I’m into everything from classic rock, to 90′s hip-hop, and some Dolly Parton thrown in because she can do no wrong.
Here are a few of my favorite things:
Can’t leave the house without: a few chunky rings, some fruit flavored chapstick & my camera.
