Whether you’re cuddling up next to a cutie or your ever-loyal collection of shoes (personally, we prefer the latter), one thing we can always appreciate is the out pour of emotion that you and your friends will unabashedly be displaying on this day. Dare I say it out loud? Valentine’s day.
But not all is bad. You get a free pass from the powers that be to be as lovesick, love struck, bitter, happy, foolish, and maybe a bit of all of the above as you want, and everybody understands. Today’s the day when you are forever warranted to write scathing commentaries on social media about your ex-boyfriend, or perhaps the unjust universe who didn’t grant you a handsome make-out partner. Today’s the day when you can troll dive bars with a beer in hand telling any poor sucker who will listen about your love life, or if this is more your style, bump Adele all day in your car with a box of cupcakes without anyone passing judgment.
Today’s the day we rejoice in fiery passion, the good, the bad, and the beautiful… let’s just hope nobody’s cars actually get set on fire.
