We hope all you New Yorkers had an amazing Fashion’s Night Out 2011! We spent our FNO ‘11 at OAK Bond St. Upstairs it was all about reviving the spirit of Studio 54 with mirror balls and lots of glamor. Downstairs it was a gritty rock ‘n roll party, courtesy of Ksubi. At the beginning of the night 3,000 $1 bills lined the walls, by 10 PM the walls were white. One of the highlights of the night for us came just after 9PM when our girl TIF B took the stage to perform a medley of songs from her debut EP Big Bang (available as a free download HERE). We’re so proud of how far Tif’s sound and stage presence has come over the past few months, and we know it’s only going to get bigger and badder from here! One of our favorite breakout artists of the last few years is Marina Diamandis aka Marina and the Diamonds. Her debut album The Family Jewels is packed with theatrical, playful and heartfelt songs reminiscent of Kate Bush, Tori Amos and Florence Welch. Now Marina is back, with her follow up record, a conceptual piece entitled Electra Heart. We were so excited to find out that she not only wears the American Flag Lita in her second single from the album, “Radioactive”, but that she also owns a pair! We also love that she collects vintage cheer-leading and varsity jackets. Marina is definitely one to watch, both in music and style. Hey Y’all! We took a trip over to visit our friends at STRUT and checked out their JC merchandise. STRUT is located on W 14th Street between 5th and 6th Ave. They’re stocked up with our customer faves like our Lita and Skate. Rumor has it, Bajan pop princess Rihanna stopped in a few weeks ago and walked out with multiple pairs of JC’s! With more JC styles to on the way, the cool atmosphere of STRUT is just enough to send you to shoe heaven!
