Rainbows never really went out of style, but they definitely had some bright moments throughout the years. Some of our favorites are Rainbow Bright, Mariah Carey’s Rainbow, Lindsay Lohan’s Herve Leger bandage dress, Christopher Kane’s current collection and of course DOUBLE RAINBOW! And we’re totally into rainbows here at JC. Just look at our new POPO sandal from EDGE OF URGE. We’ll be wearing these for sure all summer long with our mini-backpacks and white Kurt Cobain sunglasses. Now that’s some serious rainbow pride!

If you had to ask us what our FAVORITE trend from the 90s was, we would most def go with butterfly print. We immediately think back to our butterfly baby tees, Mariah Carey, and best of all, lower back tats. This season, we made sure to touch on this moment of the past in both bags and shoes. Cher is awesome. She’s definitely one of the coolest ladies of all-time, and we’re definitely still seeing tons of her influence in fashion and street style. She’s still making music and movies, and still dressing crazy and is in her mid-60s. She’s won an Oscar, had a #1 pop hit when she was in her 50s, and has provided us with some of our favorite karaoke moments of all time. We love Cher in any decade, but we’re most in love with 60s, 70s and 80s Cher and here are just a handful of examples of how awesome she actually is…

We CANNOT wait for Brooklyn duo Sleigh Bells’ sophomore album Reign Of Terror to come out this February. We absolutely loved their first record Treats and if lead single “Comeback Kid” is any indication, the album is going to be amazing. Their new video for the track just came out, and we’re loving the candy-colors, soft-focus and 80s vibe that’s going on. Check out the clip below, and catch Sleigh Bells on tour this spring.

THE INTRIGUE OF LANA DEL REY

Gorgeous. Songwriting Genius. Fashion Icon. Studio Creation. Talented. Haunting. Awkward. Tumblr Queen. These are just a few of the words and phrases we’ve heard people throw around over the past few months in reference to the fastly famous Lana Del Rey. We’re not exactly what to make of the self-proclaimed “Gangsta Nancy Sinatra” just yet, but we are drawn to her, we love her sound, and that in and of itself is something to give credit for. It’s kind of like that feeling we had when we first laid our eyes and ears on Britney or Gaga. We’re intrigued. And we’ll admit it, we can’t stop listening to LDR’s freshly-leaked album Born To Die (our favorite tracks are “Off To The Races”, “Blue Jeans” and “Diet Mtn Dew” so far). And she’s already setting street-wear trends a plenty. Here’s a look at some of our favorite LDR looks so far, and her video-clip for “Born To Die.”

NOTHING COMES BETWEEN ME AND MY CALVINS

Obsession. That’s how we currently feel about CALVIN KLEIN. Even though CK began back in the late 60s, the designer hit his prime in the 90s with his simple, yet brilliant clothing and advertising. It was the perfect balance to the over-the-top Versace empire, and we love that both houses are having such huge and well deserved comebacks. So here’s a look back at some of our all-time favorite CK moments starting with Brooke Shields’ famous ads from the early 80s and leading up to our current favorite, Jennifer Lawrence’s flawless Oscar debut last year, and everything in between…

At age 14, Brooke Shields began modeling for Calvin Klein Jeans. Her ads, while rather tame by today’s standards, caused quite a stir in 1980, and was just the first of many controversial advertisements CK would release over the next three decades.

Calvin Klein scored big in the 90s with models Kate Moss and Mark Wahlberg (then known as Marky Mark).

The new millennium welcomed Jamie Dornan (appropriately referred to as the male Kate Moss) and actress Eva Mendes as the new faces of Calvin Klein.

And more recently, supermodel Lara Stone did her part to promote the brand.

Actress – and spokesperson for Calvin Klein – Diane Kruger wears CK to the Met Costume Gala in 2010.

Actress Emma Stone wowed viewers – and style critics – in this backless peach Calvin Klein dress at the 2011 Golden Globes last January.

And finally, one of our favorite red-carpet moments ever: Academy Award nominee Jennifer Lawrence in Calvin Klein at the 2011 Oscars. Perf-ection!
